Since Chris & Leigh didn’t see each other before the ceremony right after we found some shade, gathered the families, and took some photos!
It is a rule of weddings that if you watch the groom right after the ceremony he will play around with his new ring 🙂 Whenever that happens it makes me smile 🙂
Leigh’s bouquet was created by her sister and wrapped in one of her Grandmother’s handkerchief – a lovely touch and her something blue!
After family photos were done Leigh’s sisters (yes there is a second one hiding under the dress!) bustled her up and we were on our way! How killer are her red shoes???!!
To speed the process Chris’s cousin Patrick was our chauffeur in a golfcart….Chris kindly helped me keep my lenses dust free on the journey.
I love walls. Especially barn walls 🙂 After taking some pictures in the back field I inquired about whether they would be willing to zip over to the Breeding Barn for a few photos. Being the mellow and up for anything couple they are they agreed!
Yeah….it’s big 🙂
Love playing with my lens flair 🙂
Our chauffeur Patrick 🙂
Pretty swoopy white tent against a blue blue sky
Leigh’s Dad toasts the couple during dinner
Chris listening to his Brother Mark speak
Mark mentioned his childhood love of karate and video games 🙂
I LOVE this shot. Father/daughter moments get me all choked up and this one takes the cake.
I knew I wanted to take some photos out by the vineyard with the barn in the background but the light was too harsh right after their ceremony. After dinner I grabbed them and we headed out into the field 🙂
Suprise! Leigh was born on the 4th of July and LOVES fireworks so some family members surprised them after sunset
This guy had never danced before but once he started he didn’t stop – he was TEARING it up 🙂
A light moment between Father and Son
My Aunt Deenie LOVES her ice-t. She used to get it from McDonald’s but now it comes from Starbucks. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of her near the end of the night when she broke it out (but she didn’t leave the wedding….the mystery remains how she got it!!)
The Phil Abair Band was AWESOME. This is my cousin Will and his wife Sarah – they had the same band at their wedding 2 years ago and both times everyone was on the dance floor….go check them out!
Happy couple at the end of the night (thank you Julia – you totally rocked this one).
Stay tuned for the slideshow 🙂
PS – As you can see I’m playing around with logo ideas for my new pink background 🙂
Yeah so this wedding was so amazing and so awesome it needed two posts 🙂
As you know if you’ve been following the blog this week my cousin Christopher and his beautiful wife Leigh were married last Saturday at Christopher’s childhood home in Shelburne, Vermont. The day was perfect and there was happiness to spare. The dance floor was packed and everyone just had a wonderful time.
Julia from Salty Grapes Photography accompanied me up to Vermont for the weekend and we had a blast. Head on over to her blog when you’re done looking – I’m sure she’ll have some highlights posted soon too (she was graciously waiting for me to post first!)
Commence the photos!
Leigh got ready at her Mom’s house which was only about 10 minutes from the ceremony site – very convenient! The house was light filled and so unique we both loved shooting there. The ring shot was stumping me though. I tried a few different places and it just wasn’t quite right. I glanced out the window and saw some fenceposts so opened the door and then this guy caught my eye 🙂
All the girls were in curlers and I just love the juxtaposition with the dress 🙂
Leigh’s sister and her son were so animated and fun to photograph all day. When her son woke up from his nap and saw his Mom in curlers his face turned from a smile to a frown and he started to scream. As his Mom was transformed and the curlers came out he warmed up a bit, but unfortunately he was sick and not his usual cheerful self 🙁
Love Leigh’s face here as her sister does her makeup
Did I mention that Leigh was just a radiant, happy, mellow bride – she was just so low key all day and had a great time 🙂
This is one of my favorite getting ready shots of all time – it just shows how many different things are happening right before everyone gets dressed 🙂
Love the look of anticipation on Leigh’s face
We left the house and drove over to the ceremony site – Leigh jumped out of the car and went to hide in the house 🙂
Right before she walks down the aisle she takes a moment to straighten her Dad’s tie
The groom! Christopher was quietly happy all day, except when Leigh pulled him into the action 🙂
Love Leigh’s expression in this one
Julia ran up to the house to get this super crazy wide shot- I love the result!
Yep. She was pretty happy 🙂
The view from the ceremony site was spectacular towards Lake Champlain and over to the Adirondack mountains – they couldn’t have had a more perfect day!
Mr. & Mrs!
I’m off to bed! More to come tomorrow 🙂
So I could blog from it!
(still working on it but I think I’m almost there!)
