When I started driving down to Old Lyme to meet Mary & Aaron on Monday the sun was shining and the temps were in the mid 70s. By the time I got there it had clouded over, the wind had picked up, and a storm was coming! Thankfully the storm waited until just after I got home so we had a fun time exploring the town where Mary’s family has had a beach house for over 60 years!
Aaron kept us both laughing the whole time with talk of his past days as a model 😉 and how he was pretty much a professional at this sort of thing…..I had to agree!
Aaron went and got all wet from the waves….through the magic of Photoshop most of the evidence is destroyed 🙂
My favorite 🙂
Aaron & Mary are using one of these photographs for their save the date so we experimented with “taking the plunge” and then got kind of into it and had a lot of fun 🙂 I love Mary’s super hero body language here as she bravely jumps into her future.
Why not sit down in the middle of the road??!!
We sat down here too but about 10 seconds later this woman yelled across the street that there were skunks and rabid raccoons that lived under the building so needless to say Mary & Aaron hastily jumped up!
When Mary was a kid she used to come to this walkway and watch a train. She literally jumped up and down when we saw a train coming….it was pretty funny 🙂
Love this one too.
They are getting married at The Riverhouse in Haddam next Augut so we finished up down the hill looking across to the opera house!
I had a blast! See you both soon!
Little Anna is almost nine months old and cousins with Baby Bea who I photographed earlier in the summer. Clearly huge beautiful eyes run in the family!
Anna sits up so confidently and is just trying to figure out the crawling thing- you can see her concentrating on putting all the pieces together and I have no doubt in another few weeks she’ll be cruising around!
I loved the rug in the playroom!
Anna is also learning how to pull herself up and was practicing for me in her crib 🙂
Family photo time!
We finished up with lunch as Anna was getting hungry. She loved her mashed apples and bananas 🙂
It was so much fun meeting you! See you soon!
Kurt & Beth – September 11, 2009
Venue – Hildene
Caterer – Pangea
Hair/Makeup – Green Door Day Spa
Florist – Nancy Bishop Floral
DJ – Top Hat Entertainment (Nick)
Beth’s Dress – Priscilla of Boston
Bridesmaid’s Dresses – Coren Moore
I had such a blast with Kurt & Beth – despite a drizzly gray day they just let it happen and enjoyed themselves.
We started at the Green Door Spa which I love – there is plenty of room, light, and fun mirrors 🙂
After finishing up there we headed to Beth’s parents house to get dressed and have some lunch!
Kurt & Beth met on St. Patrick’s day over cupcakes so the night before at the rehearsal dinner these were the favors (rings not included!!)
Beth’s Priscilla of Boston dress was striking and so classic – it really felt very appropriate for the beautiful grounds of Hildene and I loved how she had her initials and wedding date sewn into the hem of the dress
One of my favorite getting dressed moments of the year!
Coming down the stairs to meet her groom!
It was a wee bit drizzly by this point but the show went on!
Beth looked radiant as she came down through the gardens with her Father
Kurt’s nephews were so sweet 🙂
Beth taking it all in!
I LOVED that the boys wore pink socks 🙂
The flowers were simple and beautiful
Love this series – the rain had stopped so Beth & Kurt and I headed back out into the garden.
Beth really wanted a photo with her veil which was her Mothers. The wind had other ideas 🙂
Enter the groom cam!
A few sweet details:
– “Nuts for each other”
– Wedding cake shaped cookies were placed at each table
Happy and warming up thanks to a heated tent!
Fun toasts with grandchildren involved 🙂
Beth had told me that Kurt was QUITE a dancer and he didn’t disappoint….nor did his groomsmen. They had everyone cracking up all night!
Kurt and Beth – I had so much fun and look forward to seeing you soon!
I met up with Becca & Brendan in Boston on Monday – they were visiting for the U2 concert the night before and are huge Red Sox fans so really wanted to explore the city and do their engagement photos there. They are getting married next June at the Old Round Church and their reception will be at The Inn at Essex and I can’t wait -they were so easy to be with and we just had a great time!
We met up at the Public Gardens where I’d never visited before….so many beautiful trees!
Then we took the T to Fenway which was quite quiet as the Sox were out of town
Fun alleyway with colorful walls (Becca laughed when I suggested this location…”ahh – the wall” she said!!)
Baseballs and light reflected off a building!
We shot here for about 5 minutes before being kicked out – they were doing construction on the roof and clearly we were risking our lives. Thankfully some kind person had taken down the caution tape so at least we got a few photos and acted innocent 🙂
Beautiful Beacon Hill!
Becca & Brendan – we’ll be in touch soon – I can’t wait to see how all your ideas come together!!
When Jeff and I were on vacation our wonderful hosts used this marinade on steak and it was DELICIOUS. I believe it is from Cooking Light.
Rosemary Mint Marinade with Garlic & Lemon
We used it on steaks that we grilled but I’m sure it would also be delicious on chicken.
10 large fresh mint leaves
1 1/2 t. chopped fresh rosemary
2 T. lemon juice
1 1/2 t. zest of lemon
3 medium garlic cloves, peeled
1/2 c. olive oil
1 t. salt
1/8 t. pepper
Process all ingredients in the cuisinart until smooth.
Marinade meat and mixture in plastic back for 2 hours.
