Settle in….this is going to be a long post filled to the brim with gorgeousness! Jamie & Carolyn planned and executed (along with the fabulous Lindsay from Sixpence and Carolyn’s Mom) a flawless event. They were going for: “vintage, garden, and whimsy” and with the help of a fabulous team of vendors they knocked it out of the park.
Congratulations to both of you! It was such a wonderful day!
Whenever Jimmy Choo’s are involved I know it’s going to be a good day 🙂 I love when brides step out of the box and add a little sparkle (literally in this case!) to their feet!
The ladies relax at the Study as preparations swirl around them!
Jamie broke the no present rule by sending over a little blue box 🙂 I think Carolyn forgave him immediately when she saw the beautiful bracelet inside!
The ladies from Naomi’s Studio & Salon did a beautiful job with hair and makeup!
I don’t often get to photograph the guys getting ready so this was a pleasure – Jamie was hanging out two floors down! I arrived in the nick of time as he was just about to don his tie!
He wrote out instructions on how to tie it complete with illustrations – COME ON.
Completing the look!
We were at the Study!
The guys joined him to hang out for a bit before heading over for the First Look!
One of my favorite moments of the wedding day 🙂
I loved the feather Carolyn wore in her hair – so chic!
A few details….Carolyn’s great-grandmother’s blue topaz ring and the note from Jamie that accompanied the bracelet!
Marcy from Dragonfly Events did an AMAZING job with the flowers – I’m a sucker for beautiful flowers and was just so taken by the subtle color palette of the bouquets.
LOVE this moment.
The First Look!!
From Carolyn in response to the question – what is your most vivid memory of the day: “Seeing Jamie for the first time at our “first look”. I thought it might be weird to just see each other and talk while getting our picture taken, but it was very calming and private. We took so many pictures together and with the bridal party so it got the fun started early. It was wonderful to know that when I walked down the aisle, I no longer had to worry about seeing Jamie for the first time in front of everyone.”
Love Jamie’s expression!
Super pretty light & people + champagne…..what could be better??
More beautiful floral details
Hamming it up with the groomsmen 🙂
The guys and I walked over to the Lawn Club. During our engagement shoot Jamie had requested that we take some photos with the dinosaur so he and the guys rocked it Mad Men style 🙂
The entrance to the Lawn Club festooned with their initials!
Let it begin!
One of my favorites.
Carolyn writes that she: “was originally interested in the style of New Haven Lawn Club because it had a classic brick exterior with large archways, original floor-to-ceiling, paned windows, very high ceilings, and a hardwood floor in the ballroom. When I saw the huge art deco chandeliers, wall sconces and giant, breathtaking mirror over the fireplace that ties into the look of the chandeliers, I was sold.”
The architectural detailing in the ballroom is just stunning
These make me smile 🙂
A few quiet moments before the rush of well wishers!
A framed photo of Carolyn’s Grandparents
Marcy & Lindsay strike again! The ballroom looked so fresh, springy, and elegant.
Carolyn and Jamie take a bit of a breather before the reception begins.
Mr. & Mrs!!
Toast reactions are the best 🙂
A brotherly hug.
How gorgeous is the cake??!!
Let’s get this party started!
Things got a little crazy 🙂
Father and sons out enjoying the dance floor!
You made it through!
Jamie & Carolyn – HUGE congratulations and hugs to both of you!!
I saw this this morning via Young House Love (via Speed Bump Comic) and it made me giggle 🙂
Before the wedding season started Jeff and I wanted to take a little vacation just the two of us. We had originally thought of doing something a bit more active but then decided that sitting on a beach for the week was just what the doctor ordered 🙂
After much discussion and suggestions from friends (and former brides & grooms!) we settled on Club Med in Turks & Caicos – it was great. It’s an all inclusive resort which means that you can do as much or as little as you want at no extra charge – there were always activities going on and despite doing a lot of reading on the beach we did do a fair amount of sailing and snorkeling. The food was very good for the most part and the drinks flowed freely 🙂
I didn’t have my camera with me that much but we took two nighttime excursions and I brought it along….
Paradise is nice 🙂
The last night we were there we walked down the beach two properties to the Grace Bay Club – this place is the Ritz Carlton of Turks 🙂 Our cousins Heidi & Ave had recommended we enjoy a drink there and watch the sunset and it didn’t disappoint!
Life is tough.
Yummy appetizers complement our drinks 🙂
Thanks autofocus….I didn’t really want to see ourselves that clearly anyway 🙂 Oh the joys of having a complicated camera!
Our friends from the lake Shana and Mike overlapped with us for two days so we met up for drinks one night – very fun!
