I spent last week up in Vermont visiting my Mom and working from her house between two Vermont weekend weddings. I had the pleasure of doing a few portrait shoots when I was up there and Lillie (7) & Annie (4) were one of them!
Their Mom was worried because Annie is going through a phase where she doesn’t like getting her picture taken. As a result we decided to do the shoot at my Mom’s house so they could play with my dogs and not worry about the camera – I think it worked 🙂
Annie REALLY liked the dogs 🙂 This shot cracks me up!
They also got a big kick out of the tractor but were disappointed when I wouldn’t turn it on 🙂
Lillie is a huge tree climber and goes HIGH!
The girls both were dying to go down to the beach so we complied – this windsurfer washed up last summer and has been a fun diversion since then – they liked captaining it around the shallow water
Mom and her girls 🙂
LOVE these two 🙂
Lillie was trying to get the hang of skipping stones and did a great job.
Love this one too.
The fields had just been hayed so we took advantage
We ended the evening in front of the garden but the dogs were back….this makes me laugh 🙂
I had such a great time exploring with you!
We first saw Amanda’s photos by chance — a random Google search of our wedding location. We were instantly impressed by her relaxed, beautiful style of photography. She sent us many helpful suggestions throughout the planning process, including recommendations for other local vendors and tips for day-of scheduling. Our friends and family told us that they were very at ease with her low-key presence, and as a result we have hundreds of photos of our guests the way we know them — happy, relaxed, smiling and unposed. We were always confident that our photos would come out great, and they did!

Earlier this week my friend Randi
and I met up at the Burlington waterfront so I could photograph her two girls – Madelyn (6) and Mirabelle (3). She emailed me before and told me she couldn’t convince them not to wear matching outfits because they think they are twins – I thought it was adorable.
They were so fun and so easy to laugh….we had a great time until it literally started to rain on our parade!
How cute are they?
I LOVE missing teeth 🙂
They were so sweet together and very cooperative!
Madelyn loved the rocks near the Echo center
One of my favorites.
They really really really wanted to go out on a boat 🙂
The rain is starting and it’s time for an ice cream!
Devin & Alexa – June 12, 2010
Ceremony: St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church
Hair: Ashley Stevens
Devin & Alexa’s wedding weekend continued on Saturday morning in matching his and hers club suites at Mirbeau. The rooms provided plenty of space for people to spread out and get gussied up 🙂
A flower from her Mother’s veil was sewn inside Alexa’s dress and the final button on the end of her dress was from her Grandmother’s gown – so special and unique.
12 girls + 2 moms + a great hair and makeup team + 2 photographers + 1 videographer = a full room 🙂
The guys meanwhile relaxed on the patio of the restaurant overlooking the beautiful gardens.
I borrowed Eileen’s Macro lens for this shot on a hosta!
Devin’s Dad and Brother cross the bridge and Devin’s groomsmen wore his robe around all day insisting that he could because it was a spa….he was right 🙂
A little re-stocking while getting ready 🙂
While Alexa was finishing up with her makeup I photographed the groomsmen – I loved the trees.
Let’s get this show on the road!
Heading off to do pictures of the ladies!
Love the scope of this one.
Of course we had to do one on the bridge!
Trolleys arrived to whisk us to the church!
The flowers were so simple and subtle next to the pop of the girl’s dresses
Love this moment 🙂
Note to couples who are lighting a unity candle – follow Devin & Alexa’s lead and go around to the other side of the altar so we aren’t looking at your backs!
Devin is Irish so as a surprise Alexa organized a bagpiper to lead them out of the church – so cool.
We stopped at Mirbeau for some couple’s portraits – I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to photograph in the garden!
And with time to spare we made it over to the Country Club to finish up bridal party portraits and do some family pictures.
The details were lovely and elegant.
Devin & Alexa found me through the wonderful Ali! Her main squeeze Jonathan is Ben’s
The silhouette of Alexa’s dress was stunning when it was bustled
All together now!
Love these two as Devin & Alexa head into dinner.
Devin had a huge Notre Dame contingent at the wedding (many lacrosse teammates) so it was only appropriate that the groom’s cake paid homage to his alma mater!
Between the first dance and the parent dances people had fun on the dance floor….a mere taste of what was to come!
Love this one.
Let’s get this party started!
This was a first – put a champagne bottle in the middle of the floor and dance around it – trying to outdo the last person…made for some wonderful shots 🙂
Very impressive 🙂
Bridal pushups and some air guitar – a VERY fun wedding 🙂
General happiness and rowdiness 🙂
Congratulations to both of you!!
