Last week I met up with one of my favorite families for some updated photos. I photographed their son Parker hours after he was born and since then he’s grown by leaps and bounds. His big Brother Gray isn’t slowing down either and as always is a bundle of fun. It was their dog Georgia’s birthday so she happily did laps around us and flew through the woods and leaves.
I love photographing Moms with their kids – I can count on one hand the number of photos I have of me with my Mom (she was always behind the camera) so I love showing Mammas how beautiful they are
So fun to see all of you! xo
Well now that my season has wrapped I hope to pick up my reading again which has been seriously lacking all summer. I find that by the time I head to bed I get about three pages into a book and then nod off! My Pinterest “Books to Read” board beckons and I hope that with so much time spent nursing in the next few months I will choose to read instead of surf on my phone….time will tell!
I finished “The Horse Boy” earlier this fall which is an absorbing book about a boy with severe autism whose family takes a trip to Mongolia in order to take part in Shamanistic healing rituals for him. They made a documentary about the trip which I haven’t seen but would like to. The book is one part about autism and one part about a family’s journey to acceptance and healing – pretty incredible story. I would recommend it!
I met up with Ms. Sylvie and her Mom and Dad on a perfect fall day and we had a great time exploring, playing in the leaves, and visiting GG who lives next door. Enjoy the fall prettiness and this VERY sweet little girl!

When Adam & Emily told me they were getting married at a library and were going for a library themed event I couldn’t wait – it sounded awesome and it was. Emily and I went to high school together so it was such an honor to be there for her special day and to re-connect with her! Their pup Winnie of course stole my heart immediately and I couldn’t get enough photos of her. Adam & Emily were relaxed throughout the day and really seemed to relax and enjoy themselves – something which can not be said for every couple! Enjoy the photos.
As we get later into the fall I even more strongly encourage my couples to do a first look so we have beautiful natural light for their photos – the leaves also provided a nice carpet for their first look
All the tables were named after favorite authors and decorated with a portrait and a stack of books. Library cards listed who was seated at the table and what their dinner choice was
Bookmarks were placed on top of menus and their guest books were old books cut out in the shape of “love.” Their seating chart mirrored the Dewey Decimal system – so fun
I love when both parents walk their kids down the aisle – such a testament to the support and love they’ve given over the years
Emily’s Brother (a librarian himself!) did a fabulous job officiating the ceremony
A receiving line allowed Emily & Adam to greet guests…..and then took the pressure off of them for the rest of the evening
A few more portraits now that it’s official!
The main room looked so cozy filled to the brim with Emily & Adam’s closest friends and family
Everyone headed up to the Dome room after dinner for dessert and dancing
And Winnie walked them home at the end of the night to where they were staying – perfect!
Congratulations, Emily & Adam!!
I met up with James & Katie last week in Old Deerfield on an absolutely spectacular fall day. They are getting married next June at The Ponds at Bolton Valley and after seeing how much fun they are around to be around I am even more excited! They are so easy and loving around each other and were a pleasure to photograph. We needled James a bit for his height but he was a good sport about scooching down when necessary to match Katie’s petite stature. I had SUCH a blast with you both!
See you next June!!
