Five Month Old Emily

Sweet Emily is a five month old bundle of energy and exploration – talking and teething and just overall being a VERY happy kiddo! You can see Emily’s Mom’s beautiful creativity in the color wheel quilt that hangs over her changing table and the gorgeous flowers on the wall – Sarah has SUCH a great eye for design and the result is a cozy nursery you want to spend time in.

Recommended :: The Winter Garden

winter-garden
My friend Alyssa recommended “The Winter Garden” to me and I loved it. I’d categorize it as a somewhat easy read but that has great characters and a good storyline. Especially towards the end I couldn’t put it down as the threads of the story came together. I’d recommend it!

The Amazon synopsis reads :: “Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters. As children, the only connection between them was the Russian fairy tale Anya sometimes told the girls at night. On his deathbed, their father extracts a promise from the women in his life: the fairy tale will be told one last time—and all the way to the end. Thus begins an unexpected journey into the truth of Anya’s life in war-torn Leningrad, more than five decades ago. Alternating between the past and present, Meredith and Nina will finally hear the singular, harrowing story of their mother’s life, and what they learn is a secret so terrible and terrifying that it will shake the very foundation of their family and change who they believe they are.”

Fun Vermont Reception Photos

Let’s get the party started! Once the music kicks off the evening really gets underway and everyone lets loose. People always ask if I get sick of the music but the answer is definitely no – you’ll see me dorkily grooving out as I work my way around the dance floor! Enjoy the photos
Love this fun image from Colin & Leslie’s wedding. I also love that Colin is playing with his ring – a sure sign of a new groom!

It is possibly even better when little kids rock out to the music like this little one at Otis & Shaila’s wedding

January Providence Visit

Norah and I took our first solo road trip down to Providence in mid January to visit my close friend Sarah and Norah’s bestie Emily who is three months older. It’s so fun to see the girls interact (well – Emily interacting with Norah at this point!) and Sarah and I were hoping to get some crafting done.

Perhaps my favorite picture of Norah so far

This baby doesn’t do much – she can barely hold up her head!

PVD-Visit-0005
Norah had just gotten her two month shots poor little lamb
PVD-Visit-0006
Who knows if it was the result of being in a new place or the shots or some other unknown factor but Norah went on total sleep strike.
PVD-Visit-0007
This worked for about ten minutes….needless to say not much crafting happened
PVD-Visit-0008
Finally I resorted to this – I was determined to at least get one project finished!!
PVD-Visit-0009
Much happier the next day after a good night’s sleep

Hanging out with her bestie – can you believe how much Norah has changed in just one month??!!
