Katie & Colby’s wedding was my first full day wedding of the year and if it’s any indication this is going to be a wonderful and beautiful year! The weather was perfect and the day went off without a hitch thanks to Sarah from A Polished Plan. The flowers were just STUNNING – cherry blossoms filled the tent and were highlighted by soft pink lighting. Colby & Katie’s families were so warm and welcoming and it was fun to run into a few old friends unexpectedly. Congratulations to both of you – I hope you are having a fabulous honeymoon – enjoy the photos!
A few Norah photos to brighten your day (as she brightens mine every day!) – these are from April when she was around five months. Each month she gets more fun – so inquisitive and happy and smiley. She loves tummy time mostly because she still hasn’t figure out how to roll from her belly to her back. She’s started to scoot backwards and can move around and reach for things on either side. We’re practicing sitting now but she still tips over! She loves her jumperoo and her kitchen counter chair where she supervises me cooking.
Chandler & Ryan’s beautiful beachy wedding is being featured on Preppy Wedding Style – the newest sister blog to Rustic Wedding Chic. RWC is one of my favorite blogs and I’ve long thought that a preppy blog was the missing piece so was thrilled when I heard from Maggie that she would be launching one!

I finally finished “The Goldfinch” over the weekend and THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. It was a long book but well worth the effort – great story and characters. A friend had recommended it as a book she couldn’t put down and it definitely was. The characters are engaging and with the twisting plot it just kept getting better. There is nothing like being engrossed in a great book! This book was recognized with the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction -a high honor!
The Amazon Synopsis reads :: “Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don’t know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his longing for his mother, he clings to the one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.
As an adult, Theo moves silkily between the drawing rooms of the rich and the dusty labyrinth of an antiques store where he works. He is alienated and in love–and at the center of a narrowing, ever more dangerous circle.
The Goldfinch is a mesmerizing, stay-up-all-night and tell-all-your-friends triumph, an old-fashioned story of loss and obsession, survival and self-invention, and the ruthless machinations of fate.”
“Amanda was absolutely AMAZING! We couldn’t have imagined anyone better. Her photographs are stunning and exceeded any expectations we may have had. They are the perfect combination of candids and more formal photographs. Not only is Amanda’s work incredible- but she is so lovely to work with. She is very flexible and accommodating. Her calming personality makes her so enjoyable to be around. I remember both Colby and I were so nervous for our engagement photos and she made us so at ease and comfortable. She also surprised us by sending a calendar with our picture on it as a holiday gift! All my friends who come over and see it make a comment on the calendar and what a thoughtful gift it is. We felt so lucky that we found Amanda and that she was available to photograph our engagement photos and wedding day! We will have beautiful memories of our day forever thanks to her!”
