Featured on Rustic Wedding Chic!

I realized that I never shared this fun feature submission from Heather & John’s Middlebury Vermont Outdoor wedding – it was a stunner! John’s family home provided the perfect backdrop to an elegantly rustic celebration!

Thanks, Maggie!

Sugarbush Wedding Photos

Jenessa & Jeff’s Fall Sugarbush Resort Wedding at Gatehouse Chairlift
I have been looking forward to Jenessa & Jeff’s wedding all season long – they are such a sweet couple and we had such a blast doing their engagement photos last year. Former clients Kami & Jeff introduced them to me so it was fun to see them again too! It was my first time working a Sugarbush resort wedding and it did not disappoint – so many different spots to take photos and such spectacular natural scenery!

I started the day with the guys who kindly got dressed a bit early so that I could document it – that meant they had extra time to watch football l so they weren’t too fussed!

The ladies were right on time and just finishing up with their makeup when I arrived. It was fun to give a quick wave to Kerry Armstrong who does fabulous hair and is SO. NICE.

Jenessa’s Mom helped her into her gorgeous gown

And after a big reveal and a good luck toast we headed off to the First Look!

Of course we weren’t completely alone….Jeff’s Groomsmen kept watch from their balcony!

I couldn’t resist the classic Sugarbush Resort wedding photo with Claybrook in the background – so Vermonty!!

After exploring we wandered up to the main courtyard and met up with the families and bridal party including Jenessa’s thrilled Brother Zach!

Sweet Kami & Jeff and their dog Stowe who Jenessa & Jeff puppysit/steal regularly- a photo of them with Stowe was a must take!

AWESOME socks including ones custom made with a photo of Stowe, Beethoven, and Smuckers Goober (A PBJ combination!)

Knowing that the guests would come down the mountain before me I snuck into the reception to get some detail shots before heading up the mountain

Up we go to the breezy middle of the mountain – I was glad I had my down vest!

Snuggled up under blankets kindly provided by Jenessa & Jeff

Now that is an entrance!

Wendy Bratt officiated the ceremony – she is a close friend of mine and married us nine years ago so obviously I’m biased but think she creates the most beautifully memorable and personalized ceremonies – hire her!

Jenessa is apparently known for her silly expressions so I loved the bottom photo especially!

A casual receiving line formed as guests sipped champagne and enjoyed the views

And the wonderful Julia from Sugarbush snapped this photo of the four of us!

After the rest of the guests headed down in the chairlift we did a few more photos

I attached the strap to my camera for these – I was so worried I’d drop something off the

The reception room is rustic and light filled – such a beautiful space!

Up on a ladder for a shot of everyone!

Let the party begin!

You know it’s a Vermont wedding when there is a shot ski and a firepit! (The cigar bar is an added bonus!)

Jenessa & Jeff – I LOVED being your photographer and I hope to see you guys around town!! xo

Vermont Basin Harbor Club Wedding

Dickie & Ilana – September 16, 2017

Band :: Sultans of Swing
Ilana’s Dress :: Christos

I met Ilana when I photographed her sister Laura’s wedding a few years ago at the Waybury Inn. A few times now I’ve photographed multiple family weddings and it’s always so fun and so special. It was great seeing everyone again and meeting Ilana’s nephew Ben with his wild red hair! Ilana and Dickie met at nearby Middlebury College and have overcome some major long distance time to finally be together celebrating their marriage. They are so easy around each other and share many similar interests including their beloved dog Bowie. Enjoy a few of my favorite photos from this beautiful Basin Harbor Club wedding!

I was so thrilled when I saw that Ilana had worked with Jill at Shindig Bespoke for the paper suite. I first worked with her at Jackie & Jono’s Basin Harbor Club wedding many moons ago and she always does such a fabulous job working with the couple to really personalize the suite to their personalities.

Ilana’s Mom was sweetly showing an image that had popped up in her time hop from Pete & Laura’s wedding that I took – good timing!

Meanwhile my second shooter Jamie was over with the guys getting ready

I loved this moment as Ilana saw her completed wedding look for the first time and teared up – nice work Edo Salon!

Dickie and Bowie are ready for the first look!

Ilana and her girls right before she donned her dress

You all know how much I love when couples choose to do a first look – it makes everyone feel less stressed and more relaxed among many other benefits!

Bowie just wanted to jump on Mom and shower her with kisses but we held him at bay!

Ilana instructed her girls to choose dresses of gray and blue – such a beautiful palette resulted

Former clients Pete & Laura with son Ben (and another on the way!)

The tent was all set up before the ceremony so I took advantage of some extra time (thank you first look!) to grab some shots of all the beauty!

Bowie finally got his way – it’s a testament to Ilana’s calm nature that she was ok with it as he jumped up!

Taking a moment and trying to stay cool before the ceremony – it was about 85 despite being mid September!

My close friend Wendy Bratt officiated our wedding nine years ago and I’ve had the pleasure of working with her a few times since then. Every time I love it more -she really works with each couple to personalizes the ceremony and make it unique to them.

Phew Ben made it down the aisle

Ilana’s Mom added a little something unexpected to her reading prompting this fun reaction from Ilana

Coming down the aisle photos are some of my favorites – such joy!

Huge Jenga fun during cocktail hour and a glimpse of another former couple!

As guests filed into the tent we headed to the gorgeous new dock for some additional portraits

Another high point of the day – I love the energy and happiness that happens when the couple is introduced into the reception!

Bowie didn’t want to miss the party! It’s so great that Basin Harbor is so dog friendly – people are welcomed and encouraged to bring their pooches!

This couple was getting married the following weekend!

What a setting!

Ilana’s Uncle played a song with the band

And Bowie made another appearance later in the night although I don’t think he appreciate the (awesome!) music nearly as much as the guests!

A sparkler getaway ended the night before guests headed to Red Mill to continue the party!

HUGE congratulations to both of you it was so wonderful to see you again!!
