This Basin Harbor wedding was FUN! Elizabeth & Ford worked with Claire L’Esperance for their beautiful and unique flowers that complemented the multi-colored bridesmaids dresses from Alfred Sung. Elizabeth wore her Mother’s dress from 1977 originally purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue – love it! All of the ladies spent the morning at Shear Cuts in Vergennes getting their hair and makeup done with great results! The ceremony was wonderfully and personally officiated by Wendy Bratt who is THE BEST. That evening all the guests rocked out to The Pulse of Boston one of my absolute favorite bands!! Enjoy the photos!
The Basin Harbor flagpole was strung with signal flags spelling out Elizabeth & Ford and the family Barker flag hung at the top and also decorated the tent!
This fun directional sign greeted guests as they drove in to Basin Harbor and provided a reference point to some of their favorite places
A quick pick of all the girls with Liz’s Grandmother before the ceremony
And a quiet moment between Ford and his Mom before things got underway
Logan enthusiastically made sure every last petal had been distributed!
Basin Harbor is such a spectacular setting for an outdoor wedding!
A light moment as they exchange vows
Beautiful couple beautiful setting!
A kind Basin Harbor staff member shuttled us over to lodge lawn after the ceremony so we could do photos
Most of the couples I work with want family photos but want them to be done QUICKLY so I approach them in a relaxed casual way – I don’t spend precious minutes adjusting every single person but instead flow through different groupings speedily and efficiently. I love it when at the end people say “that’s it? that was easy!”
I was so psyched that we were able to take advantage of Basin Harbor’s signature Adirondack chairs for the bridal party photos including a pint sized one for Logan!!
The boys wanted to do a “dragon pose” – that was a first!
We walked back across the property as Logan serenaded us with songs from Mamma Mia
Phoebe of course completed the family photo on the shores of Lake Champlain
Colorful details under the tent really set the stage for a great evening- the Barker flag decorated each table and doubled as a table number and colorful pashminas mirroring the bridesmaid’s dresses were draped over each chair
A fun first dance to Hall & Oates “You make my dreams”
And then The Pulse started rocking and the party didn’t stop!
Groomsmen dancing antics!
After a short dance set Wendy welcomed everyone and did a blessing for the meal
I love seeing parents out on the dance floor – Ford’s parents tore it UP!
See what I mean?!
Near sunset we did a few more pictures out on the water
The Maple is a historic boat that happens to feature all of Elizabeth & Ford’s wedding colors – Captain Brian once again helped out with the logistics – everyone at Basin Harbor is SO nice.
Elizabeth and I were at Deerfield together so Alanna kindly snapped this picture of the Deerfield group so I could be in it!
We OBVIOUSLY had to get a picture in the enormous chairs!
I love the anticipation from the ladies in the background!
Taking a moment to soak it all in!
The needlepoint belts from Smathers & Branson (a groomsmen gift) came in handy later on for some limbo!
Elizabeth & Ford – I had a blast celebrating with you – congratulations!! xo
