Ben & Hedda’s Wedding

Get comfortable folks – this is going to be a long one….my longest ever!!!

If you read yesterday’s post you know that I spent this past weekend on the North Fork of Long Island photographing Ben & Hedda’s weekend wedding. Ben & Hedda contacted me a few months ago and even though I had promised myself that I wouldn’t shoot a wedding the weekend before mine when they told me what they had planned I just couldn’t turn it down. Ben & Hedda are friends with my cousin Heidi so I had met them last summer at her wedding.

Similar to me and Jeff they are a couple who really value their family and friends over anything else and I think that came through in the feeling of the day. It was so joy and love filled and tears were flowing!

On to the photos!

Hedda surveys the scene with their pooch Reese standing guard 🙂

Hedda got ready on the back porch of the house as the inside was quite dark – the light was buttery and even 🙂

The hydrangeas were in full bloom and I knew I had to incorporate them somehow. There weren’t really enough to put Ben & Hedda in front of so instead I photographed the rings there!

LOVE this picture

The flower children were super super cute

Hedda’s Brother gave a very emotional talk at the wedding…and I cried again 🙂

This is my favorite coming down the aisle shot EVER 🙂

First dance to “You can close your eyes” by James Taylor. I was going to use this song for their slideshow…until I realized it was only 2 1/2 minutes long 🙂

Ben & Hedda had ice cream sandwiches for their reception – YUM

Things on the dance floor got a little wild 🙂

And someone even ripped their shirt!

Ben & Hedda – so much love to both of you and thank you so much for having me to document your day – I had an incredible time. We’ll be in touch soon!

xoxoAmanda
