Black Tie Vermont Wedding

November 2, 2018

This was a special wedding – I photographed the groom’s sister Annie’s wedding way back in 2009 and since then we’ve become close friends and our daughters are in school together. Besides that I photographed one of the groomsmen’s wedding and knew many of the guests – that always makes it more fun. Stevie & Michael have phenomenal taste and clearly put a TON of thought and effort into this wedding. Jokes were made about holding a black tie wedding in Vermont but it was very much THEM and every detail was beautifully coordinated. They soaked up the love all weekend and everyone just had a blast. I’ll share the photos from Friday night soon but in the meantime enjoy the photos of this beautiful couple getting married!

Driving into Basin Harbor you knew that it was going to be a special weekend!

Starting off the each detail lovingly thought out – these were the presents for the bridal party

And welcome bags for all the guests

All the ladies got ready in the living room of the homestead in their matching PJs

Stevie’s friends knocked it out of the park decorating the getaway golf cart

The two (EXTREMELY EXCITED) flower girls with their custom Bembien baskets

Colette met up with the guys to photograph them getting ready

Pretty ladies all in a row!

Stevie’s Mom immediately teared up when she walked in the door as did her Grandmother – Stevie had wrapped her great Grandmother’s gloves around her bouquet

Ready for the first look!

Loved these reactions so much

A lot has changed in nine years!

As guests arrived it was time to toast!

The kid crew was so stinking cute

Hot toddys, confetti and pashminas greeted guests

The aisle at Basin Harbor is quite long and the girls spread all their petals diligently and ran out about halfway down – much giggling by all ensued!

Stevie’s cathedral length veil was expertly manned by Michael’s nephews

They held on tight when a gust of wind blew through almost lifting it off Stevie’s head. Like everything else that day she took it in stride!

The sun broke through the clouds during the ceremony warming everyone up on a chilly fall day!

Michael’s relative sung a beautiful song that had everyone misting up

Mr. & Mrs!

We did portraits in the garden – I love this one of Michael photobombing the outlaw photo of Stevie & Ross!

We went down to the lake for a few quick minutes but it was a bit breezy for everyone!

Entering cocktail hour in style!

Details details everywhere….gorgeous candelabra centerpieces made for a dramatic and beautiful main dining room. Custom napkins and signs at the bar and escort cards from the original animal magnet

This bus was a HIT!

And check out this showstopper of a cake made by the fabulous team at Basin Harbor

Time to party!

It is hard to resist cute kids on the dance floor!

Night Rhythm was just awesome and had everyone on the dance floor all night

Roasts and toasts by the best man and maid of honor

Actually cutting the cake took some instruction but they persisted and got it done!

A thank you to all their loved ones at the end of the evening

Before a sparkler getaway — off to the Red Mill for the after party!

Congratulations to both of you I had SUCH a blast!!
