We’ve had a great RELAXING few days in California. Jeff has even gotten me to put my computer down a few times which is a beautiful thing.
We’ve done a bit of wedding planning and now have a clearer idea on our flowers, menu, and timeline. We also are close to finalizing the wording on our invitations, which we’ll order in January when we’re up in Vermont.
Two days ago we went to the beach to spend some time with our college roommate Scott. Sitting with my toes in the sand inspired me to do some business planning and longer range thinking. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day and not make bigger goals – I’m trying to be better about re-evaluating on a weekly or monthly basis what I’ve done, what needs to be done, and where I’m going so that will continue in 2008.
There’s something about the end of the year and the new beginning coming – I’m so motivated to finish up projects I’ve been meaning to do which feels GREAT. I’m having some trouble reconciling that with relaxing and being on vacation but Jeff gives me gentle reminders when I need them. Jeff’s whole family is here so it’s been nice to spend some time with them playing games, cooking, and hanging out.
2007 has been a big year for me and I can’t wait to see what 2008 brings. As much as I try to leave things open, I have many things penciled in for next year – the most important one being July 12th (!!) but other’s too with friend’s weddings, weddings I’m photographing, a honeymoon, a mysterious trip, and lots of time spent with friends and family.
Many thanks to all my clients for their support, encouragement, and ideas – without you there would be no Orchard Cove.
I’m going to head outside now and enjoy this beautiful sunshine.
Love to all who read this blog and especially to my family (and to my Dad who has a big birthday tomorrow!).
Have a wonderful Holiday and make sure to take a moment to be thankful for all you have.
