Cara & Andrew’s Amee Farm Wedding

Andrew & Cara – October 3, 2009
Church: Union Church, Proctor, VT
Reception: Amee Farm
Caterer: Noel’s Catering
Florist: Pittsfield Garden Center
Makeup: Avanti
Cara’s Dress: Caroline DeVillo

Cara & Andrew met on a trip to Germany in Middle School and have been close ever since. During their ceremony their siblings read excerpts from letters they had written to each other during that time….they were hilarious πŸ™‚ One of the quotes on their wedding invitation (a beautifully designed book created by Cara) was

“We are each the love of someone’s life”
– Andrew Sean Greer, The Confessions of Max Tivoli

It was clear from being around Andrew and Cara that they have found that person.

——-

I met them at the church where I caught Andrew writing a note to his bride to be and Cara right after she read it πŸ™‚

Cara and her sister pose for some snaps before the ceremony starts

Andrew’s niece was the flower girl and wasn’t exactly sure how to approach the whole walking down the aisle thing. Eventually with Dad at the other end she came to the front but we all had a good laugh as she kept stopping and staring at the guests wondering why they were all looking at her πŸ™‚

An emotional moment πŸ™‚

They had an impromptu receiving line in the perfect place…a hallway of windows πŸ™‚

Off to do some pictures – first in downtown Proctor and then at Amee

Cara made her feathered veil and it looked stunning….her shoes were pretty rocking too πŸ™‚

Amee has an event space downstairs and beautifully decorated rooms upstairs – the perfect place for a destination wedding!

Cara’s favorite part about her dress? The bottom zipped off πŸ™‚

Sweet, touching, and funny toasts!

Andrew’s niece was a total hit on the dance floor πŸ™‚

She broke in on the first dance but they didn’t seem to mind πŸ™‚

Love this one πŸ™‚

She was busting out some crazy 80s exercise moves as part of her dancing!

And Andrew totally busted out the air guitar near the end of the night πŸ™‚

Details details….

Cara is a graphic designer and did an amazing job with their stationary suite. The theme was a family tree with the saying “Know your roots”

Placecards corresponded to covered journals Cara created which guests could write notes or wishes in.

The flowers were brilliantly autumnal

Cupcakes and Star Wars for dessert πŸ™‚

And guests were welcomed with this cheerful message πŸ™‚

Amee has great artwork adorning the walls – I loved this one πŸ™‚

And one more view of the awesome cupcake table.

Cara & Andrew – it was really a privilege to be a part of your intimate celebration – you have a very special group of family and friends!
