These photos are very overdue as the baby in this beautiful Mamma’s belly is now three months old. I shared her newborn photos months ago! Regardless – Katie owns a yoga studio in Shelburne and wanted to mark this time in her life by doing some yoga while showing off her belly. I love the simplicity in these – it’s really all about Katie and her practice.
The night after Sarah’s shower we had a sleepover so we could do her belly pics. Nellie sat next to me as we drove down to the beach 🙂
First child snuggles 🙂
L.L. Bean ad anyone?
Love this one
I love the rolls on Nellie’s face 🙂
On the way to our next location Sarah and I switched seats so she could snuggle with the noodle 🙂
The wind provided some nice movement in her dress
Back at the house we mellowed out while Reid played his trumpet
I am SO excited to meet the little guy 🙂
Anybody who reads this blog my recognize the two canine participants in this first photo – Midge & Brody. Brody was one of Strider’s first doggie friends and provided a good example in manners as he is very well trained. I first got to know Nellie & Erin when we were about to get Strider. Knowing that Brody was such a good dog I plopped on their couch one night for a few hours and asked them as many questions as I could think of about what it was like owning a dog, how they trained, him, etc. They patiently answered all my questions (and more over the years!) and a friendship was born.
Nellie used to work at Deerfield and before I got involved with photography so did I. Many mornings we’d run into each other first thing walking the dogs and everyone would have a good romp (including Strider’s other friend Dutch who he used to hang out with during the day when I was at work) – fun times with labs of all colors!
Fast forward a few years where we’ve seen each other a bit less because of geography. When Erin picked Brody & Midge up from their last visit to our house she said “oh and by the way Nellie’s pregnant” – we were thrilled and I was even more thrilled when they emailed me asking if I might take some belly pictures. YES!
We started in their backyard which provided a nice green backdrop!
They are so excited to meet their little guy and I can’t wait to meet him too!
They are both very quick to laugh – there will be a lot of love in that house!
Nothing like a good belly laugh 🙂
We wanted to stop and take some pictures but Brody really wasn’t having it – it was walking time!
Ah the colors of spring 🙂
Their neighbor’s garage was so cool
Brody agreed to sit nicely for a few moments
But then when we got back to the house he wasn’t so sure he wanted to join his family on the porch….so we worked it
And eventually he relented!!
Stay tuned (I hope soon) for a little bitty baby boy…..I can’t wait to meet him!!
One of my favorite things about my job is watching families grow and change and maintaining the connection with them over the years. I first met Joe & Sarah in 2008 for their beautiful fall wedding (almost exactly three years ago in fact!). In March last year I re-united with them to photograph Sarah’s belly – she was pregnant with their first child. Sofia was born a few weeks later and I met her when she was about three weeks old.
Two months ago Sarah contacted me to tell me it was that time again – she’s pregnant with their second child 🙂 She wanted to make sure to document this time again so I arrived while Sofia was napping and we did some shots of just Sarah and her belly. She is still the same sweet Sarah she was in 2008 and she was just radiant in that way that pregnant women are.
Sofia stirred from overhead so we went upstairs to greet her and thankfully she was all smiles. Usually I can’t see resemblances but looking at her newborn photos I can see glimpses of the little girl she’s become.
Dad came home from work and we went outside to have some fun. Sofia by this point had much more interesting things to do then stay still and take pictures but I managed to sneak in a few 🙂
Growing up but still tiny next to Dad!
A funny grumpy face 🙂
LOVE this one
Can’t wait to see you all again in a few weeks and meet #2!!
Emily and I were Provisionals together in the Junior League of Hartford. She and her Husband James are expecting a little boy in just a few weeks so we got together last week to capture her growing belly. April showers made us re-schedule a few times but we finally got an unseasonably warm day and enjoyed exploring the reservoir which provided a beautiful and rural background.
I met up with them at their apartment and as Emily was getting ready met their firstborn 🙂
Even a few weeks out they are very well prepared – Emily found this adorable print online
Love this one 🙂
A belly is such a fun accessory 🙂
Maybe my favorites
Although the glory light peeking through the trees was pretty beautiful here
Like the quietness of this one.
I told Emily to be saucy and she complied 🙂
I can’t wait to meet the little man in a few weeks!!
