Christmas in Vermont

Jeff and I spent Christmas in Vermont with my Mom and as usual it was a blast.
The “kids” took over the kitchen on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and we cooked up a storm!
My Brother Jon was the official chopper while Jeff played the role of Head/Executive Chef – the results were delicious!

Strider and Sage were sous chef and also provided clean up services as needed 🙂

After dinner Strider and Sage got a treat – they were invited up on the banquet for snuggles and love 🙂

When we started preparing dessert they got impatient and jumped off. Too bad because it meant they didn’t get to sniff my Mom’s fabulous Chocolate roll….my absolute favorite dessert in the world!

Please can I have some??

The next day they tried to stay awake as we opened presents 🙂

They didn’t realize that there were some in the pile for them 🙂 Uncle Jon helped them unwrap them!

Sage loved the new additions to her toy box 🙂

We hoped that she wouldn’t tear them apart immediately….and they didn’t 🙂

This one was for Uncle Jon but they still got quite excited 🙂

More resting….gotta save up energy for our Christmas Day walk!

Yes we are meat eaters 🙂 Our two main courses – beef tenderloin with a mustard/fresh herb rub and rack of lamb with a mustard crust….we like mustard and both were BEYOND delicious.

On Christmas night after dinner we headed over to visit our Coozans. Coozan dog Grit was all tuckered out from a day of fun so snuggled with Jon in front of the woodstove 🙂

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
