For the most part I take holiday weekends off to be with my family and Columbus Day was no different – for the second year in a row we journeyed to Vermont to enjoy the foliage and all fall has to offer….I sense a tradition coming on 🙂
We arrived late Friday night and woke up at a reasonable time to Saturday morning to go hike Camel’s Hump. Since I didn’t have my camera I’ll wait to post those but suffice to say it was beautiful and COLD at the top!!
That night despite somewhat chilly temperatures we enjoyed a glass of wine outside before we had 12 over for dinner!
Sutton came up to Vermont for a night 🙂
Colby’s Grandpa lives next door and he’s always fun to have around. I can just image what he’s saying right at that moment…..”wanna know something???”
His sweet little sister Kaiya
Everyone hangs out and enjoys the sunset and moon rise
Giles and Cathy stay warm 🙂
A thin crescent moon rises over the lake
The next day we had a serious breakfast of eggs, bacon, and home fries – yum yum yum 🙂
We took a walk down to the beach and along the way played some catch 🙂
Ms. Sage a week shy of her 1st birthday!
We were so lucky – the weather was spectacular all weekend!
Mr. Strider hangs out and does his mellow doggie thing 🙂
Even with the chilly temps Sage was eager to fetch!
Foliage was close to peak and the sky was crisp crisp blue
Sunday afternoon we went apple picking at Shelburne Orchards. It was fun but most of the apples were already on the ground so it was more of a finding game 🙂
Giles and Cathy found a few on a tree 🙂
We took another walk on Monday before heading back south
A happy accident along the way 🙂
Have a great weekend everyone!
