One thing I’ve been doing a lot of lately is crafting….I can’t get enough of it 🙂 You might remember in January I hosted a girls crafting weekend at the lake
…ever since then I’ve been a mini Martha Stewart (but not quite as much of a perfectionist!!
The other day I took some snaps of some of my finished projects….this morning I made a list of all the “in process” projects….there are 11 at various stages. I think any crafter would agree this unfinished business is a common side effect – guess I better get to crafting!
In February I took a needle felting class at my local knitting store Creative Fibers
and made this cute snowman that’s decorated our mantle ever since…I guess maybe he needs to go away for a few months 🙂
I also made these hearts for Valentine’s Day that are also still on the mantle 🙂 The painted stick was part of the save the date
for our wedding 🙂
I’ve been doing tapestry, cross stitch, and needlepoint since the sixth grade when my kind classmates referred to me as “Grandma”- I had had this one in progress for years but entered a tapestry drought so was determined to get it made up into a brick door stopper!
This was a canvas a friend had given me years ago. When I dropped off the brick to be finished at Thistle Needleworks
in Glastonbury I picked up the colors for this and was really happy with how it turned out. I still haven’t figured out how I will finish it – with a ribbon on a hanger? In a frame? We’ll see!
If you take a look at the crafting post you will see the “Storm at Sea” quilt top that I finished that weekend – I just picked it up from the quilter’s the other day (I love piecing but am not a big fan of quilting so for nicer projects I get them professionally quilted and finished) and it looks lovely. Once it’s hanging in our room at the lake I’ll take a photo and post it!
Stay tuned as hopefully I’ll have more progress to report in another few weeks 🙂
