When Jen and John described their wedding to me it sounded perfect – a relaxed party for all their friends. In the last few years they’ve had many such parties at their house but everyone wouldn’t fit so a new spot was found 🙂
They didn’t venture far – the Ox Ridge Hunt Club is where Jen rides and thus is a very personal spot for both of them. Their friend Katie became their wedding planner and knocked it out of the park with personal touches and details.
Guests were welcomed and then directed with hand painted signs

Jen’s Mother and Sister-in-law helped her get dressed (in the locker room of the hunt club!)

And then it was Jen’s niece Maggies turn to put her dress on. It struck me when I took this image that they’ll look back on it when she gets married and it will be a similar scene – time marches on!

Jen & John opted for a first look and chose to do all the portraits before the ceremony so they could enjoy each other and then their guests – my favorite scenario 🙂

It was a very sunny and beautiful day so we found a nice spot in the shade of the barn – I loved the texture of the walls

The flowers were simple and stunning – so summery and colorful

Nieces and nephews were the only wedding party members 🙂

As guests arrived I snuck under the beautiful Sperry Tent to photograph the details. The tables were simple but so elegant – white linens with a burlap runner decorated with flowers in mason jars and small buckets. The bottles of water were perfect – I love when details serve a purpose!

This tent design is new and this was the first time the tent had been used – their tents are my favorites

Benches and hay bales covered with colorful fabric surrounded the ceremony site. Jen and John are avid and successful gardeners so they helped plan the plantings around the gazebo. It was amazing that the trees were perfectly in bloom!

The ring bearer’s pillow was piped in red and adorned with birds

Outside the tent a table hosted the guest book and Jen’s tack trunk provided a place for guests to put gifts 🙂

Back under the tent hay bales were stacked to create couches and a seating area for guests to relax.

Silverware was wrapped with a blue bandana and each couple was sent home with a cutting board in the shape of a pig 🙂

A better view of some of the gorgeous flower arrangements

Their invitation suite featured an illustration of the barn at the hunt club

The cocktail tables were covered with burlap and a horseshoe was placed next to the flowers

Sperry Tents are made of sailcloth so light comes through – they are GORGEOUS

The flower children came down the aisle to start the ceremony

Followed closely by Jen & her Dad who were so relaxed and happy

The short ceremony meant that many of the guests just stood up to watch

Married! Let the party begin 🙂

Guests strolled around the lawn and enjoyed the beautiful weather during the extended cocktail hour. Signature drinks provided additional pops of the color and guests were asked to seat themselves

It was pretty idyllic 🙂

Jen and John had bought these “ponies” for all the kids and they were a total hit and kept everyone happy 🙂

When the light had softened Jen, John, and I stepped away from the cocktail hour to take a few more portraits. It was fun for them to look back and see the scene from afar 🙂

Did I mention it was a BBQ and two pigs were roasted on site?

Near sunset the flags waved gently in the breeze

Jen & John provided a welcome toast to kick off the dinner portion of the evening

And then guests were invited to boogie on the dance floor 🙂

Sweets were brought out after dinner in the form of mini cupcakes and pastries and also these fabulously decorated sugar cookies 🙂

Guests were strongly encouraged to wear cowboy boots and stay casual 🙂

It was a magical evening

Congratulations Jen & John!
