Els & Simon had one of my favorite types of weddings – an at-home summertime celebration! They were married at Simon’s Mother’s beautiful home in Manchester with the ceremony on one side of the street and the reception on the other! Both of them were relaxed throughout the day and everyone just had a blast
Their neighbor (literally – her house was 10 feet from the reception tent!!) and friend Mariah did the catering through her business Cafe Mamie, the Bondville Bloomist was responsible for the beautiful flowers, and the Sultans of Swing kept the tent rocking throughout the night! Els purchased her Amy Kuschel dress through the fabulous Deb of Sewly Yours in Burlington who I’d highly recommend. The bridesmaid’s dresses were Lula Kate and everyone’s hair was done at American Hairlines. The cake was made by Lindsay Martin and the rentals came from Rain or Shine Tent Company.
Enjoy the photos!
Els gets a little makeup assistance from her sister (loved the bump!!)
We did all the photos before the ceremony which makes things SO much less stressful and so much more relaxed!
Simon and Els have 4(!!) dogs who all had a part in the ceremony – pretty special
The paper suite with a beautiful painting of the bend in the river where the ceremony took place
Did I mention the bridal party canoed to the ceremony? That was a happy first!
Simon gives instructions to the guys – Els & her Dad donned appropriate footwear (everyone’s shoes were staged at the other end!)
Love this one
Thankfully everyone made it safely!
Two dogs brought the vows and the other two brought the rings!!
Obviously they also canoed away!
And then hopped on the skooter to head to the reception!!
Usually it’s grooms I catch fiddling with their rings but that night it was Els
Simon is a fly fishing guide so it was only appropriate that the table names were named after flys!
The head table was beautifully decorated with a winding path of river rocks and birch canoes interspersed
Cocktail hour was not as appealing as the new Where’s Waldo book!
Hilarious and touching toasts
I’m always in favor of a barefoot first dance!
Els’ Mom & sister joined the parent dance!
The Middlebury crew assembles
This lovely labbie was staked out on the way to the bathroom for maximum attention!
Congratulations Els & Simon!
