Megan & Adam’s Vermont Wedding

Megan & Adam – June 16, 2011

Ceremony & Reception Venue – Inn at Round Barn Farm
Florist – Blue Toad
Megan’s Dress – Casablanca
Bridesmaid’s Dresses – J. Crew
Cake – Mirabelle’s
Unusually I met Megan & Adam just two days before their wedding when we did their engagement photos. Regardless I was welcomed like an old friend by their families and the day was relaxed and full of joy. Megan’s two close friends attended her and her sister-in-law did her hair so it was a very intimate group she spent her morning with. Every wedding’s energy is different – this one had a quiet happiness to it 🙂

Adam was joined by his family and two best men for lunch while Megan dined in her suite 🙂

Megan and Adam both surprised each other with presents – an engraved watch for Adam and beautiful earrings for Megan.

This guy’s expression cracked me up 🙂

Megan & Adam were undecided about a first look and were leaning against it but when we met two days before they realized that the week was going by in a flash and they really wanted a moment on the day to just be together before it all began.

Adam literally grabbed his knees when he saw Megan – he couldn’t believe how beautiful she looked….so so sweet 🙂

Kate from Blue Toad did a beautiful job with the flowers

Doing a first look really relaxes everyone so we had a ball doing the bridal party and family photographs

Megan and Adam chose to get married across the pond (appropriate since they live in Australia!).

Megan’s Pop escorted her down the aisle

Their friend officiated and did a really nice job

Love the gleeful looks on their faces 🙂

We took a few minutes right after the ceremony to do a few more portraits

And then it was on to cocktail hour on the lawn – such a great opportunity for candids

These two were cousins who had never met each other (one from the US and the other from England) but they became fast friends searching in the pond for frogs

A friend of Megan’s made the beautiful candle holders. Table names were vintage luggage tags

The placecards were hung on strings in the vintage suitcase that Megan found at an antique store a few weeks before the wedding

Megan’s Nan brought along her tea cup collection to decorate the wagon that greets guests as they enter the Round Barn

Megan’s Mom was joined by all the women from the family for a song. Megan’s young cousin could be heard above all – SO sweet 🙂

And later this young couple charmed everyone by spinning around the dance floor

Happy as they share their first dance as Husband and Wife

Close to sunset when the light is a bit softer we headed outside for a few more minutes of portraits. A cooperative cow provided a very Vermont-y backdrop 🙂

A friend had come to the wedding with his sketchbook and etched a few scenes during the day – what an amazing present!

Congratulations to both of you – I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in the States and had a safe journey back to Oz!
