Last week I shared Michael & Vera’s newborn twin lambs – today I’m psyched to share some photos of the sheep shearing that took place a few days later.
All the sheep were corralled into one pen to wait for the shearer
The lambs were frolicking around looking particularly adorable!
Mamma and one of her babies (the other one was snuggling behind her)
Wendy and Willie!
The shearer started by trimming their hooves. Apparently as long as the sheep’s hooves don’t touch the ground they are quite docile. This particular sheep had been sheared a few times before so knew the drill
As the hair started to come off we were all mesmerized – with the clippers it comes off in one large piece and you can’t believe how skinny they are below!
She joked she isn’t used to having an audience!
Can you believe it?
All done about 5 minutes later
Michael & Vera plan to pick the wool, card it, and eventually spin it – they have quite a job ahead of them!
What the HE double hockey sticks just happened to me??!!
What a neat experience!
