I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend – we got back late last night (with no traffic – woo hoo!) from spending a lovely few days with my Dad but are settling in back at home. I wanted to share some photos of “Snotober” – the freak snowstorm that happened on Halloween weekend.

Most of the snow fell on Saturday when I was about 45 minutes away photographing Mike & Wendy’s wedding. The white knuckle drive back home was not the most fun thing I’ve ever done but thankfully by going slowly I made it safely home without incident! The next morning we woke up to a winter wonderland – the lake had gotten about 18 inches!!
Where did the cars go?

Re-uniting with the snow 🙂

So pretty and quiet early in the morning

It was very unusual to see white but not a frozen lake- it happened too quickly!

Thankfully the lake had a lot more snow than Connecticut but almost no branches down. We lost power for about seven hours (but have a generator so no big deal!) but then mid-day on Sunday it came back on. From reading Facebook messages we knew that Connecticut had gotten whalloped so enjoyed the peace and quiet while we had it!

Love the colors with the snow (part of the reason why so many limbs came down in CT – the weight of the snow and the leaves)

That afternoon we ventured home to check on our house – photos of that to come (it was a MESS!!!)
