Stephen & Kate were married on the most perfect blue sky day at a summer Shelburne Farms wedding. We started the day at Kate’s childhood home in Shelburne which always lends such a personal touch – everyone is relaxed and in their own space. Kate also is a superb planner (with an assist from Elise at Delaney Meeting & Events) so the day ran smoothly and on time – not always an easy feat when you’re moving between locations! The groomsmen and Stephen kept us all laughing with their antics and everyone was just wonderfully happy – how could you not be? Kate & Stephen are at complete ease around each other and so clearly enjoyed themselves throughout. They are now back from their honeymoon in Bali (I generously offered to go along and document it) so it’s time for the photos!
But first a roll call of the awesome professionals who made the day run without a wrinkle…..

A sweet and quiet first look overlooking the lake
I loved Kate’s sparkly white birkenstocks – now that’s a Vermont bride! Kate’s parents property is gorgeous and I loved this grove of trees which kept everyone cool! Look closely….the girl’s flowers are silk due to allergies but they were gorgeous! We stopped by the Then we went to the gardens of the Inn for some additional family photographs Let the ceremony begin! After the ceremony Stephen & Kate took a few minutes to just be by themselves and chill out and soak it all in – a brilliant idea! Happy proud parents during cocktail hourCrisp place settings awaited people in the west hall Love this shot that Alanna got – it was Kate’s Grandmother’s birthday!Mr. & Mrs! We photographers live in secret fear of the dip – we know it’s coming and we just cross our fingers that we’ll be in the right position…..phew! Nailed this one. Kate’s Dad recounted a story during his toast that had everyone in stitches…..apparently there was a weekend the family spent together before Stephen & Kate were engaged. They were loosely talking about wedding plans but the ring wasn’t on the finger yet. Stephen asked Kate’s Dad during that weekend for permission to marry her and Kate’s Dad didn’t realize that that part was a secret (since they had all been talking about it anyway). When he excitedly told Kate what had happened he got in a little bit of trouble…..he assured Kate’s younger sister he wouldn’t make the same mistake with her! Best man toast drinking game. Everyone streamed out to the waterfront to watch the spectacular sunset And then back inside the party kicked off with Stephen & his Mom sharing a dance
