Sorry for my absence this week – I’ve been in Vegas for the annual WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) Conference and have tried to resists paying $12 per day for Internet!
Last year was my first year at this conference so it’s nice to be back and be familiar with the layout, schedule, and overall tone of the event. This conference is HUGE – I’ve heard some say that there might be up to 10,000 people here – pretty wild.
The good thing about such a large conference is that it attracts people from all over the world who run their businesses in hundreds of different ways – great for learning! I spent a lot of my time this week sitting in lectures or visiting booths on the tradeshow floor learning about the newest products on the market.
The other really important thing that happens at a conference like this is you make a lot of new friends. Lucky for me there is a strong Connecticut contingent here so I had fun hanging out with them for long stretches at a time which I don’t get to do that much, but I also talked to people from Texas, Austria, Pennsylvania, Florida, California, Washington, Indiana, North Carolina, Maine, and many many more.
Yesterday Carla and I spent a bit too much time poolside so when I get the photo from my friend I’ll post it…..we are a wee bit burned!
Las Vegas is a very fun place but seems a bit like an alternative universe sometimes – you lose track of what day and time it is frequently 🙂 It will be nice to get back to normal life in New England and I can’t wait to see Jeff and the pooch! Hope everyone has a great easter!
