Waterskiing on the Lake!

When we were in Vermont Jeff and I got the chance to go out on our cousin Marshall’s boat which is always a treat and something we say yes to without even thinking about it 🙂 I think I got to go sometime last summer but I guess I didn’t take pics as the last ones I could find were way back in 2008!

This time we had little people in tow which made it even better 🙂

Jeff and I got there early so he had time to skip some stones and enjoy the beautiful morning

Rowan and Lila arrived but Rowan wasn’t too sure about me taking pictures

One thing he was definitely sure about was getting out on the boat with “Pop” i.e. Marshall, his grandfather

Transformed into a happy guy 🙂

While we waited for Jeff, Pop, and Rowan to bring the boat in from its mooring I took some photos of Fia who turned ONE on September 1st. At first she too wasn’t so sure…

But she figured she’d go with it

And eventually she warmed right up 🙂

She is constantly checking things out and exploring

I am always struck by how TALL she looks in Dad’s arms

She loves being thrown into the air 🙂

She’s also experimenting with her voice and making all sorts of sounds

Jeff and Pop had the gall to leave Rowan on the dock (he was doing something else when they pulled away) and he ran down the dock with his arms outstretched beckoning for them to come back (which they did)

Pop and Rowan – best buds 🙂

We’re milking summertime (even though this was mid September!) and the living is easy 🙂

I was quite impressed with Jeff’s waterskiing skills – he got up on the first try! I haven’t tried in a few years but haven’t been able to get up yet 🙁

By the end of the boatride Fia was clearly due for her nap and was talking to herself to keep her awake!

Fun family time 🙂
