Katie & Erik’s wedding weekend kicked off with a luncheon for the ladies on Friday. It was supposed to be a hike and then a lunch at the Equinox Ponds but drizzly weather kept us in the bridal suite and lunch was delivered – very cozy! Katie had gotten these great shirts made for the occasion and when Erik stopped by we got the ladies together to pose for a photo!
The three sisters!
I then headed over to the pool where the guys were having a grand time before heading off to the rehearsal. This trick took a few tries but it was worth it!
We held the rehearsal under the tent as it was still drizzly
But the rain cleared and we were able to go out to the ceremony site so everyone could see it – the clouds drifting through the valley were beautiful
That night the Pond Pavilion at the Equinox was all decked out Texas style. Erik grew up in Texas so it was only appropriate to have a western themed rehearsal dinner. Tables were dressed in gingham red and white linen and signs pointed to some of the places where Katie & Erik have spent time
Guests were greeted by margaritas and a band kept everyone entertained and eventually dancing!
Guests were shuttled up and given cowboy hats on the way – members of the bridal party donned sheriff badges!
The British School of Falconry provided Falcons that were able to be handled by guests – a first and pretty unique!
Some guests really went all out with their get ups!
Texas flags hung from the rafters!
And a rendition of Going to the Chapel by Katie’s Mom and her friends!
Themed sugar cookies (Texas vs. New Jersey, K for Katie vs. E for Erik, and cowboy hats and cows) provided a delicious dessert and Ben & Jerry’s was there with their scoop cart – the perfect marriage of Texas and Vermont!
Katie & Erik got to relax and dance the night away
What a fun night!
