Bachelorette Party

February 4, 2008

A mini ice storm and a power outage didn’t keep us from having a great girl’s weekend/bachelorette party. People came from us far as New Orleans and DC and I was so appreciative of everyone for making the effort to come on such a wet slippery weekend!

As predicted we had a great time eating, sipping wine, snuggling by the woodstove, reading magazines, taking a walk, watching a Romantic comedy, and just catching up – it was the perfect mid winter weekend and I was so happy that girlfriends from various parts of my life were able to come together and meet!

Cathy brought me a balloon πŸ™‚

Chilling on Friday night.

It rained so much on Friday night that there were a few inches of water on the frozen lake making the ice below it sparkle – really really beautiful. Needless to say we didn’t brave walking across the lake as none of us wanted to go for a swim!

On Saturday night we had a more “formal” dinner with a yummy beef bourguignon cooked by Sarah. This was such a fun idea – each of the eight girls were asked to bring something that reminded them of me. They brought 8 so everyone got a little goody bag at their place.

Let’s see what’s inside!

Heidi brought “Catchphrase” and we had so much fun with it. The game works similarly to Charades except you are able to speak and say everything but the word or anything that rhymes with the word. You pass the disc with the words back and forth like a hot potato until the timer goes off. For some reason mid way through the game I collapsed in a fit of laughter during my turn….I sometimes do that πŸ™‚

And finishing up Saturday night snuggling and watching “The Holiday” which was fabulous.

Thank you again ladies for coming – I had SUCH a great time!

What fun! Glad you were able to sneak away and have some fun!
