Chris & Leigh Part 1 – Shelburne Farms Wedding : VT Wedding Photographer

August 29, 2008

Yeah so this wedding was so amazing and so awesome it needed two posts πŸ™‚

As you know if you’ve been following the blog this week my cousin Christopher and his beautiful wife Leigh were married last Saturday at Christopher’s childhood home in Shelburne, Vermont. The day was perfect and there was happiness to spare. The dance floor was packed and everyone just had a wonderful time.

Julia from Salty Grapes Photography accompanied me up to Vermont for the weekend and we had a blast. Head on over to her blog when you’re done looking – I’m sure she’ll have some highlights posted soon too (she was graciously waiting for me to post first!)

Commence the photos!

Leigh got ready at her Mom’s house which was only about 10 minutes from the ceremony site – very convenient! The house was light filled and so unique we both loved shooting there. The ring shot was stumping me though. I tried a few different places and it just wasn’t quite right. I glanced out the window and saw some fenceposts so opened the door and then this guy caught my eye πŸ™‚

All the girls were in curlers and I just love the juxtaposition with the dress πŸ™‚

Leigh’s sister and her son were so animated and fun to photograph all day. When her son woke up from his nap and saw his Mom in curlers his face turned from a smile to a frown and he started to scream. As his Mom was transformed and the curlers came out he warmed up a bit, but unfortunately he was sick and not his usual cheerful self πŸ™

Love Leigh’s face here as her sister does her makeup

Did I mention that Leigh was just a radiant, happy, mellow bride – she was just so low key all day and had a great time πŸ™‚

This is one of my favorite getting ready shots of all time – it just shows how many different things are happening right before everyone gets dressed πŸ™‚

Love the look of anticipation on Leigh’s face

We left the house and drove over to the ceremony site – Leigh jumped out of the car and went to hide in the house πŸ™‚

Right before she walks down the aisle she takes a moment to straighten her Dad’s tie

The groom! Christopher was quietly happy all day, except when Leigh pulled him into the action πŸ™‚

Love Leigh’s expression in this one

Julia ran up to the house to get this super crazy wide shot- I love the result!

Yep. She was pretty happy πŸ™‚

The view from the ceremony site was spectacular towards Lake Champlain and over to the Adirondack mountains – they couldn’t have had a more perfect day!

Mr. & Mrs!

I’m off to bed! More to come tomorrow πŸ™‚

Love these, Amanda! how cool for you to have photographed your cousin’s wedding. Boy, do you have some nice properties in your family!! They look so incredibly happy. Love the shot of their hug at the altar. (And that hilarious Getting Ready scene with all of the hub-bub going on…)

perfect moments, beautiful day, everything sparkles.
