We just got back from a traditional Chinese rehearsal dinner. There was food, food and more food – TEN courses in all….delicious, but I’m full and exhausted. Luckily it was served family style so I was able to pace myself. Let’s just say one of the dishes was decorated with a chicken’s head – not for the vegetarian (or for the faint of heart)!!
Tomorrow is round two – reception is at Chelsea Piers catered by the fabulous Abigail Kirsch. Tonight I was told there would be a mushroom bar. I have never heard of such a thing but it sounds like heaven on earth. Jeff doesn’t care for mushrooms but I told me if tomorrow night he can’t find me at some point I am probably at the (mushroom) bar.
My Father lives near Kennett Square, PA which is the mushroom capital of the world and on September 8th and 9th the 22nd annual Mushroom Festival is taking place (no I am not joking – it really exists). Sadly I am busy that weekend but if anyone is down that way please go and eat some mushrooms for me 🙂
It’s been a fun day in NYC – I got to see some old friends and help them move the last of the boxes out of their apt. They leave tomorrow morning to drive cross country to Denver where one is starting school and the other just got a job. The most exciting news on their front is that they got engaged last Sunday 🙂 They are hoping to get married in VT next Labor Day so I am psyched to have a fellow Vermonter wedding planning with me.
Headed to bed now as I was up early with the pooches this morning – I know tomorrow will be a late night….filled with mushrooms and love!
