Finn & Kate contacted me a few months ago to inquire about their wedding which will be in early October. I wasn’t really still accepting commissions for 2010 but when I heard about their wedding I knew that I couldn’t possibly say no. They are documentary filmmakers who own and run Earth House Productions from their home in Ferrisburgh, VT.
Now their home is another story – it’s a beautiful old stone house that was restored by the previous owners and continues to be lovingly restored by Kate & Finn. The outside is shod in local stone quarried from up the street and the inside is beautiful – wide wood floors, tons of natural light, and a charming country kitchen with a fireplace in the middle of it. Sheep and chickens wander around and a dairy farm is just across the street. The views are rural – beautiful fields and rows of corn roll back to the mountains beyond. In short it is spectacular and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding against this backdrop in a few short weeks.
We got very lucky and hit on a beautiful early autumn day with rich light and a small breeze. Kate & Finn didn’t need much direction from me and instead I just stepped back and let them be who they are.
Enjoy the photos.

Finn is quite a bit taller than Kate so we had a bit of fun with that 🙂

They are clearly so happy together forging life in this picturesque corner of Vermont

Love these.

REALLY love this (note the spider web in the background)

Their house provided a beautiful backdrop

Love.

In preparation for their wedding Finn has been building this stone wall with a seat just for Kate 🙂

I loved the juxtaposition of the blue and stone.

Chickens wander around and sheep dot their pasture – this one is Hansel…the most tame.

Needless to say I am REALLY looking forward to your wedding!
