Somehow in the busyness of wedding season, I didn’t get a chance to share this wedding – yipes! Now that life has slowed down a bit I’m catching up and you can look forward to more action on the blog in the coming months! This was a fun one – I photographed another wedding at this amazing property 2 years ago (cousin Avery was getting married) so it was great to be back and once again working with Janet Dunnington Events among others. Enjoy this burst of summer warmth in the middle of fall!
I arrived at the house while Leslie was getting her makeup done by Stacy Hunter. Meanwhile Alanna met up with the boys at the Grafton Inn.
Sam’s sweet nieces were resting up before the big event and were extremely well behaved throughout the day!
I found this fun photo of Leslie as a flower girl in her cousin’s wedding about 25 years ago….notice the wallpaper – she was standing in the same room the picture was placed in…..the history and connection of a home wedding. Sam’s Mom needlepointed belts for ALL OF THE GUYS – as a fellow needlepointer I was most impressed! That would have taken me years!
Sam & Leslie chose to do a first look and complete most of the photos before the wedding – always a recipe for less stress!
Beautiful flowers by Nancy Bishop Floral Design.
I was happy to have extra time with a wedding party of this size – I loved the varying shades of the girl’s dresses everyone looked stunning!
Flower girls don’t always stay put!
Leslie wore a gorgeous heirloom lace veil that had been in her family through many brides!
Well maybe not quite yet….but almost!
A toast as guests arrive.
The boys stayed cool and waited inside.
The power went off just before the ceremony delaying things but Janet and her team worked quickly and solved the problem – a great reason to hire a coordinator!
Sam’s niece was slightly confused about what to do when she reached the bottom of the aisle – adorable!
I love Sam’s expression…
Beautiful flowers and beautiful shades of blue – this is quilting inspiration to me!
Sam & Leslie’s close friend Connor officiated and did a really lovely job personalizing the ceremony. Sometimes when friends officiate the ceremony can feel a bit rushed, as everyone is nervous, but he really took the time to mark the moment and put everyone at ease.
A little chocolate mustache was evidence of what kept this little one quiet and in place during the ceremony!!
Sam & Leslie were high school sweethearts and Connor was a friend even then.
An awesome vintage truck whisked them away for a few quiet moments after the ceremony – I followed behind in a golfcart!
The late afternoon summer light was just incredible.
Green and white under the tent – a nod to high school colors (where I went to….just a few years before)! Tables were named after dorms and buildings around campus.
Guests cheered as Sam & Leslie walked through the field and joined cocktail hour.
One former couple (Sarah & Avery) and a couple who got married the very next weekend!
Photos done beforehand meant that Sam & Leslie got to enjoy their entire cocktail hour and really catch up with their guests.
A cake ready to be cut by a sword…..awesome.
Time to boogie with music by Kahootz!
High school friends on the dance floor.
Yummy favors to give guests a taste of Vermont!
A little dress surgery expertly handled by a handy bridesmaid!
Swords win over knives any day
Congratulations Sam & Leslie what a beautifully fun day!
