Happy Honeymoon Memories :)

August 1, 2008

I’m heading up to Vermont this afternoon with Ms. Robin Dini to shoot Lindsay & Ty’s wedding tomorrow. In preparation I was cleaning off some photos from my hard drive and thought I’d share some pics from our mini moon πŸ™‚ We didn’t take that many pictures…we were too busy relaxing!

I HIGHLY recommend the mini moon option. Our destination was The Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid, a mere 1 1/2 drive from where we got married. By Sunday we were so beat and the thought of organizing ourselves to get to the airport and actual travel somewhere might have made me curl up into a ball. Instead we loaded everything into the car knowing we could organize when we got home and headed off!

We were there in less than two hours and commenced the relaxing. The Mirror Lake Inn was FABULOUS. We were greeted by warm chocolate chip cookies upon check in and a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room congratulating us on our wedding….wowza! That night we totally chilled out – ordered room service from their delicious restaurant and stared at the beautiful view from our balcony. Jeff even surprised me by ordering peanut butter pie…..I LOVE anything with peanut butter.

Yeah- pretty terrible view right?

On Monday we hung close to the hotel – eating right on the lake and then doing a short hike on a state park trail because we were too cheap and happy to pay $22 to hike where the tourists go πŸ™‚ That afternoon we went to the spa for a couples massage and finished up the day with dinner at The View. It was A LOT of relaxing πŸ™‚

On Tuesday we were a bit more motivated. We took the Gondola up to the top of Whiteface Mountain (mini Whiteface actually) and then hiked down. Jeff looked longingly as he saw people whizzing down the mountain on bikes but he kindly stayed with me πŸ™‚

Near the bottom we found a river with a waterfall – the perfect place to cool off!

Then we drove our car up to the true top of Whiteface. The sky was clear and you could see for miles – all the way across Lake Champlain to Camel’s Hump and Burlington, VT!

When we returned to our room on Tuesday night we discovered that our friend Tom had sent Champagne to the room with a note congratulating us. Wow – I am totally stealing that idea πŸ™‚

The happy and FULLY relaxed newlyweds….not believing that it’s time to return to our normal lives πŸ™

Have a great weekend everyone!

OMG, it’s so beautiful. What gorgeous scenic shots.

Peanut butter pie?! We must not have discussed our mutual love for anything and everything with peanut butter.

Hi Jon,

We drove to the top of Whiteface on the Veterans Memorial Highway and then hiked the last little bit to the top where that picture was taken.

I’m not familiar with the lookout mountain trail unfortunately so can’t confirm if that is it or not.

Good luck!

these are gorgeous!!!! what a spectacular view! i didn’t think any other place could look as beautiful as your home in vermont. that was incredible. thank you again for having me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend with “the boys”. πŸ™‚

I saw your post on a Google alert for Mirror Lake Inn.

That picture on the mountain trail is sweet. Is that the new Lookout mountain trail on Whiteface?

I second the stealing of the champagne idea! That’s very thoughtful of your friend. Good luck at the wedding with Robin today
