Herzberger Holiday Decor :)

December 24, 2010

This year I got a bit more in the Christmas spirit than I usually do as we had a small dinner party in early December which motivated me to decorate!!

I know it’s not fall but couldn’t bear to put these sweet Acorns that I bought on Etsy away so instead I just added the felted snowman I made last winter πŸ™‚

Our tree (though quite prickly!) was beautiful and I loved sitting in the living room at night with the lights off watching it twinkle! We opted for lights that change between rainbow and white as we couldn’t agree which was better πŸ™‚

We bought a swag of pine at Trader Joe’s and that plus the finished pennant banner formed the base of our mantle. We added holiday cards as they came in (SUCH a fun part of December) and some reindeer tea light holders (and a poinsettia that a dinner guest brought!) to complete the look πŸ™‚

I loved how the banner turned out and can’t wait to make more….stay tuned for those pictures – ideas are swirling in my head!

A few favorite ornaments

I made these a few years ago but for some reason never thought to put string on them and hang them on the tree- duh! Last year they went on the mantle but because there wasn’t space it motivated me to finally get them up on the tree! And it motivated me to get started on some more for next year!

On Wednesday I finally picked up my three finished ornaments that I completed last winter. I am excited to add them to the tree!

This one isn’t really Christmas-y so I’ll have to figure out where to hang it πŸ™‚

I have fully embraced and hopped on the seasonal decorating band wagon – anyone have any ideas for mid-winter decorations??
