Introducing Sage!!

December 15, 2009

While Sage is sleeping peacefully after a long walk I wanted to post some photos of our first few days. She’s doing great so far – very different than Strider was with a ton more energy and spunk but she’s awesome!

We drove up to Bethel, VT early Saturday morning to bring her home. After exploring the front seat a bit she settled down and slept the rest of the way home!

No joke- she climbed up me and put herself in this position- maybe my neck was warm πŸ™‚

The big meeting. Long story short Strider wasn’t too excited at first about the new arrival especially as she got braver but they are settling in and tolerating each other….I am going to be psyched when they actually start playing together but for now Sage is SO tiny I think Strider is worried he’s going to hurt her!

First meal.

Strider wonders why she gets three meals a day when he only gets two – what’s that about??!!

Getting used to the snow and cold.

What are you doing over there Big Brother (and Uncle – Strider’s Brother Skooter sired the litter!)

A popular angle as anytime I am down at her level she tries to climb on me and eat my camera πŸ™‚

Sage LOVES snuggling in my big fluffy jacket!

Cruising on the south trail at the lake

Trying to nurse from Strider!
The one time he tried to play with her – she ran whimpering to me with her tail tucked between her little legs!

Getting used to the crate. Wasn’t sure about this whole door closed thing so we tried it with the door open. She likes Strider’s bed better but is getting used to it….especially when we warm a towel up in the dryer before we put her to bed!

Looks like you’ll be staying awhile??!!

This bed actually says Strider on it so I think you should move along.

I think I can I think I can!

A frequent hiding spot!

Right as we left the lake it started to snow big wet flakes. We got some family pictures for our holiday card but I’ll wait to post those until all the cards are out!

Strider’s old favorite Murphy the Mallard has gotten a new life with Sage…..even though his nose is long gone πŸ™

Settling into our home in Windsor

Mom he’s not sharing his treat

First big walk yesterday….she was exhausted!

Wait up guys!!

Under the bridge!

I think the car divider might have to be brought down from the attic as I have a feeling in another week or two she’ll realize she can jump over the seat….for now she’s too tiny!

Learning to live together πŸ™‚

A very muddy walk today (she’s sleeping now recovering!)

Didn’t quite make it but when I came back from getting groceries I saw that Sage was curled up on Strider’s back in a ball…..SO ADORABLE!!

More to come no doubt but for now you’re all caught up on her cuteness πŸ™‚
