Joe & Sarah – Engagement

September 25, 2008

When Sarah emailed me back in March to inquire about wedding photography it was truly one of the nicest emails I had ever gotten. She admitted that she was in tears looking at my site, and during our shoot Joe confirmed it. He said “when I walked into the room and saw she was crying I knew we were in trouble!”

I emailed Sarah a few months ago asking if she wanted to schedule the shoot but Joe decided he wanted to get in shape for the wedding….and for our shoot. I had never met him before but he sure looks great now -he’s been working hard all summer and the results are huge!

A few weeks ago I came home to find the envelope below in my mailbox – an invitation hand calligraphied (not sure how to spell that!) by Sarah to me and Carla (who’s shooting the wedding with me!)…..SO CUTE.

It was such a pleasure meeting them both – they’ve been together ten years and still have it – they joke around, have fun, and just genuinely enjoy each other. As you can tell it was almost difficult to catch them not smiling!

I am so psyched for their wedding in November – especially after hearing about some super secret details πŸ˜‰

We met at Lyman Orchards which was packed. So….instead of going into the corn maze we hiked through some mud to the side of it and started there.

Joe DOES NOT like to have his picture taken apparently but he had me fooled πŸ™‚

Wall. Yeah I know….I’m addicted. Sarah clearly reads my blog. “A wall!” she said right as I made my happy noise πŸ™‚

We hiked across a golf course to get to this willow tree. Thankfully there was a water station at the bottom….it was HOT!

After shooting around Lyman we headed down to the shore to Hammonasset Beach

Love this one πŸ™‚

Last photo of the day. After this they kindly invited me out to their cousin’s restaurant for a yummy dinner….I even got to take some home for Jeff! I joked with Joe when he invited me and said “oh you know a guy πŸ™‚ ” Sarah and Joe are clearly loved by their family and are willing to do anything for them. It’s a good philosophy – help someone out and it will come back to you. Sarah & Joe are in the midst of building a deck and are calling in a lot of favors πŸ™‚

I can’t wait for your wedding!

Ooh! These look great! The last 2 are wonderful–awesome light. And I also love the one a few above those–just a sweet snuggle with his great smile.

So cute! You were able to make him feel comfortable.. so his pics looked natural!
