Kate & Finn – October 3, 2010
All hands were on deck to prepare for the wedding – here Finn & his Dad search for blanks for the gun that will be fired to alert the wedding party it is time to start proceeding…a very unique and memorable moment of the ceremony!
Finn gets his shoes organized while his Brother Uly reads
The ceremony programs were set off with different natural stamps on the cover
Kate was still getting her hair done off-site so we (the wonderful Jackson was my second shooter for the day – thank you!!) wandered down to the tent which was still in the process of being set up.
The tables were simply decorated with pitchers filled with lavender and bowls laden with fruit.
Kate returned just in time to greet her Grandparents and introduce them around 🙂
Her hair was STUNNING and so unique
Kate got ready in her and Finn’s bedroom and I think it wins the prize for most beautiful getting ready spot ever – light streamed in through the abundant windows and bounced off the white walls – I could have shot there all day.
Peering out the window we could see down to the tent!
Kate’s beautiful dress to which Deb added small cap sleeves
Kate sensibly wore boots!
I took a quick break from the ladies to capture Finn and his best man walking up the hill from the house they rented about a mile away
Two details of the boutonnieres
Back with the ladies Kate’s bouquet had arrived and a family heirloom pinned to it
Kate was surrounded by friends and close family getting ready – her Mother, her GodMother, two sisters and two nieces, and her two closest friends
A quick portrait before heading out
Kate was beaming the entire day 🙂
The ladies walk along the road to get to the field where they will process from.
Celtic musicians performed throughout the evening
The arbor had been decorated by Finn’s groomsman with branches of berries pulled from the property
The men process in – with the sunlight streaming across them it was a very powerful moment
Uly and Mirabelle did their jobs perfectly 🙂
Finn beams as Kate emerges around the corner led by a bagpiper
Mirabelle was so excited to do her job that she circled back and walked back down the aisle with Kate, her Father, and her two nieces 🙂
The hills in the background framed the site beautifully
Uly got a little sleepy during the ceremony but managed to make it through 🙂
The wind was pretty extreme that day blowing up from the valley but Kate and Finn were totally in the moment and it provided for a very memorable ceremony 🙂
After the kiss Kate’s veil flew off but she took it in stride 🙂
Together they lit a pyre behind them and everyone started laughing as fairly thick black smoke and sparks blew across the newly married Kate & Finn and all their guests…thankfully it calmed down and maybe even warmed everyone up a bit 🙂
Love this 🙂
Pure joy as their friends catch up to them after proceeding down the aisle
A few portraits of the bridal party in all their finery
Finn looked so dapper in his suit
Despite the weather Kate & Finn were up for bridal portraits around their beautiful property
Their re-painted front door provided my favorite spot of the day and the wind helped out to create this photograph which I absolutely love 🙂
The wind kept blowing and Finn & Kate just soaked in the moment 🙂
Back to join their guests 🙂
One last portrait after getting bustled and with the warm setting sun
The toasts were plentiful, funny, and VERY sweet
A highlight was Finn’s Mom showcasing an art project from middle school where Finn had to come up with words that described himself. The other highlight was Finn’s younger Brother Uly who charmed everyone with his words about the couple 🙂
Mirabelle’s Mom had made the cake so she didn’t want to stray too far from it….she might miss a bite!
Kate and Finn did an Irish Step Dance for their first dance – so special
Parent dances finished up the formal part of the evening
