Labor Day Weekend at the Lake

September 14, 2010

After spending most of the weekend on Martha’s Vineyard for Mike & Becca’s awesome wedding (stay tuned later this week for that) I headed up to the lake on Sunday afternoon.

We had ten+ people at the house so like any weekend everyone was doing something different πŸ™‚ A few people decided to swim the length of the lake so Jeff and Scott acted as lifeguards and kayaked alongside of them….the puppies were most pleased when they returned πŸ™‚

My hubby on the left and our old college roommate Scott on the right all the way from California (note long surfer hair!)

Sage was acting as a secondary lifeguard to make sure everyone made it home safely πŸ™‚

VERY EXCITING. In early August the annual “Dog Days of Summer” event happened where all the dogs of the lake gather to compete in such things as dock jumping, agility, water retrieval, and land retrieval. While neither dog won “Best Dog” (yippee to their pal Luke who was the champion!!) Strider won for land retrieval and Sage for dock jumping. The metals given out were ADORABLE with fire hydrants and other dog related pictures on them….I was a very proud Mom πŸ™‚

The usual scene on a weekend – everyone gathered around the table for yummy eats and fun conversation πŸ™‚

The next morning when I woke up to take the dogs out the lake was still as glass and I couldn’t resist grabbing my camera before heading back to bed πŸ™‚

The mist hadn’t quite burned off and was floating down the lake

Sage waited patiently for me to come back inside!

Have a great day πŸ™‚
