On New Year’s Eve before heading over to a friend’s house for hors d’oeuvres we all took part in a blind taste test of six wines. Giles was the organizer and all he would tell us was that they were all Cabernet Sauvignon. We were supposed to score them from 1-10 and make note of how much we’d be willing to pay for them.

Apparently my in-laws hoard glasses π

Happy faces π

The inside view as Giles pours me some wine π

Giles unveiled the wines one by one. Before he did so we went around the table and revealed how we had scored the wines.

The six wines (really five…Giles included one twice to throw us off).

My friend Megan’s dog Max came over for dinner but wasn’t so sure what all the commotion was about!

Dinner is served! Beef lasagna, sausage lasagna, veggie lasagna!

The next day at 12 noon sharp the seventh annual Tunxis Black Bear Plunge got underway π

The crew after “warming up” – happy campers and not nearly as chilled as they have been in previous years. Strider snuck into the picture but he was not a participant this year!!

Giles makes some interesting fashion choices sometimes (his Brother in Law gave the shirt to him as a joke….or so he tells us)

Cute kiddos came to watch π

That afternoon is was time for another challenge – the Pepsi vs. Coke blind taste test challenge.

I hope everyone had a great New Year’s!
Happy Friday π
