Tim & Rebecca were married on February 28 with a ceremony and reception at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT.
This winter mountain wedding was perfect for them because Tim is a ski coach and was an All-American skier in college. (Going on to be a member of the under 24 World Championship Team Member in skiing!) Rebecca is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont and is about the nicest person you will ever meet. Tim proposed on the summit of Mount Mansfield, where he managed to carry a bottle of champagne to the top without Rebecca knowing!! Then they spent their engagement night at Trapp Family Lodge where they got married six months later.
The girls spent the morning at the salon and then returned to the Lodge for lunch. I arrived and met up with the guys for some pre-ceremony portraits first. After a freezing February they lucked out with a bright sunny day in the high 20s….balmy for this time of year!
The boys and I ventured outside and had fun skate sliding down the hill…..I held my breath hoping someone wouldn’t trip and fall!
Tim’s adorable niece Ainsleigh was a very attentive and excited flower girl.
I then joined the ladies so Rebecca could put on her dress and we went downstairs to do some photos of them (Tim had promised to be out of sight!). As guests started to arrive, the girls returned to their suite to freshen up and then the ceremony began!
Rebecca’s niece Abigail checks out the beautiful girl in the white dress….her Aunt!
One can never have too much hairspray!
Rebecca’s Dad had THE BEST reaction to seeing his daughter as a bride.
One bridesmaid is due with her baby any day so had to miss the wedding- Rebecca used FaceTime to connect with her so she could see the transformation – the magic of technology!!
Abigail kept everyone laughing by playing peek a boo before the ceremony
A close call as the elevator opened and Tim caught sight of one of the bridesmaids – thank goodness Rebecca wasn’t in front!
Abigail made it down the aisle just fine but then burst into tears as they took their seats….quick thinking parents had toys at the ready to distract her with!
The ceremony felt especially personal and heartfelt. Any nervous tension was cut as soon as little Abigail burst into tears and with only 60 guests, it was such an intimate wedding that it felt like everyone who was there really knew Tim & Rebecca well and were so happy to be there.
I love Tim’s face in this one – marveling at his beautiful bride!
Tim’s close friend officiated the ceremony and did SUCH a nice job – it felt so personal and lighthearted yet also reflected the importance of why we were there!
After the ceremony, we took time to finish up the formal photos before Rebecca & Tim joined cocktail hour.
Tim’s friends decided they better make themselves busy primping Tim as Rebecca’s maids bustled her dress!!
(Stylish!) Boots kept everyone’s feet warm while we were outside.
Rebecca hand made many of these details!
The beautiful bouquets did double duty and were transformed into centerpieces for the reception.
And the Mozart room transformed into the reception space during cocktail hour!
Rebecca’s father gave a welcome that opened the reception. After dinner, Meredyth, the maid of honor and Kyle, the best man kept everyone laughing with their memories. The cake was cut, the formal dances took place and then people really started to boogie!
I thought these Koozies were hilarious!
Rebecca smartly didn’t want to risk spilling on her dress!
And Abigail’s dress looked like a cupcake spread over her highchair.
The ladies shortened their dresses for dancing.
One of Rebecca’s friend is a Zumba instructor so led people in quite a few routines throughout the night – good participation!!
The boys did their best to keep up…
“Like a Prayer” had been a big song at Middlebury College where Tim went so it brought everyone on the dance floor — Sometimes with smaller weddings it’s hard to get people dancing but with this wedding it was a great party throughout the night. The combination of Zumba dances, old favorites and new hits kept everyone moving!
Tim & Rebecca – I so enjoyed being a part of your intimate wedding – what a fun day! Hope you had a great time in Jamaica for your honeymoon and that I see you around town soon!
