When we had our walkthrough at Shelburne Farms I knew this was going to be a fun one. Colleen & James were interested in throwing a really fun party for their friends with amazing food (thanks, Let’s Pretend Catering!), beautiful flowers (In Full Bloom) and fun decor courtesy of Vermont Tent. Though strong storms blew through and one of the shuttles was way delayed they didn’t let it get in the way of enjoying every ounce of their day. It was a great group to be a part of! Enjoy (more than!) a few of my favorite images
Naps are important….especially when you’re the Father of the Bride
A little skeptical of my presence!
Such great expressions from both James & his Mom when Colleen walked out
At the end of portraits the weather got “interesting” – a strong storm blew through including a good soaking. Thankfully they had planned a cocktail hour before the ceremony so everything still ran on time and smoothly!
While we waited for the delayed bus to arrive cocktail hour got underway
Let’s Pretend does such an amazing job and they all do it with a smile on their face – they are the best!
A delicious Raw Bar
Has it stopped raining yet? Nope!
Miraculously by the time the ceremony had ended the rain had stopped….and stayed away the rest of the evening!
There are some really awesome puddles in the courtyard after it rains (which Norah tried out last night!!)
Liane from Let’s Pretend preparing the small plates that took the place of dinner – they were amazing.
James & Colleen rented this awesome bar set-up from Vermont Tent – it provided a great gathering place for people to hang out throughout the evening
More yumminess – the mac & cheese with thick cut maple bacon was my favorite
Rain brings the prettiest light
As the sun set everyone headed outside to enjoy the view
And when guests returned Ben & Jerry’s was scooping in the courtyard – YUM.
This was my favorite – James & Colleen had so much fun running the gauntlet of sparklers that they turned around and did it again….and then encouraged others to have a turn!
Congratulations – what a fun night!!
